Family of Hugh Burns (3) & Margaret McPhilamy

4. Hugh Burns. Born on 22nd April 1873 in 15 Old Dalmarnock Road Bridgeton Glasgow. Hugh died in Stobhill Hospital Glasgow on 17th March 1943 9.45pm, he was 69. Occupation: Iron Work Labourer.

On 1st October 1890 when Hugh was 17, he married Maggie Stevenson, daughter of Hugh Stevenson & Isabella/Margaret White, in St. Clements Church Glasgow. Born abt 1872. Maggie died in Stobhill Hospital Glasgow on 20th July 1944, she was 72.

They had the following children:

	9	i.	John (1893-1959)
		ii.	Hugh. Born on 22nd March 1898 in 63 Dale Street Bridgeton. Hugh died in Sir Gabriel Woods Mariners Home Greenock on 10th August 1978, he was 80. Occupation: Seaman. On 30th June 1922 when Hugh was 24, he married Helen Mary Strachan White, daughter of William Ferry White & Mary Ann Strachan, in Junction Rd United Free Church Leith. Born abt 1902.
		iii.	Noble. Born on 24th June 1899 in 19 Main Street Bridgeton. Noble died in 20 Crownpoint Road on 12th April 1903, he was 3.
		iv.	Bridget. Born on 25th March 1911 in 41 Marlborough Street. Occupation: Hosiery Worker. On 4th July 1930 when Bridget was 19, she married Robert Sinclair, son of Walter Allan Sinclair & Elizabeth Smith, in 160 Tollcross Road Glasgow. Born abt 1908. Robert died in 73 Dervaig Street Glasgow on 6th January 1957, he was 49.
		v.	Noble. Born on 1st January 1916 in 333 London Road Glasgow. Occupation: Varnish Maker/ Gunner Royal Artillery. Religion: Church of Scotland. On 1st January 1941 when Noble was 25, he married Elizabeth K Carmichael, in 174 Balgrayhill Road Glasgow.

5. William John Burns. Born on 15th June 1875 in 9 Reid Street Bridgeton? William John died in Myrtle Cottage Coalburn on 18th July 1922 8.30 am, he was 47. Occupation: Shoemaker/ Musician.

On 30th December 1892 when William John was 17, he first married Beatrice Kelly, daughter of Charles Kelly & Mary Preston, in 51 Peel Street Camlachie. Born in 1875. Beatrice died in Western District Hospital Kelvin on 26th June 1914, she was 39.

They had the following children:

		i.	Mary. Born on 21st August 1893 in Macks Land Baillieston.
		ii.	Hugh. Born on 22nd April 1895 in Scotts Land Crosshill. Hugh died in 165 Springfield Road Glasgow on 8th August 1899 9am, he was 4.

William John and Mary Trotter.

They had one child:

i.

Daniel. Born on 17th July 1907 in 8 Comely Park Place Glasgow.

On 31st December 1902 when William John was 27, he second married Florence Bolsworth, daughter of Charles Bolsworth & Mary Jane Hazeldine, in 33 Circus Drive Dennistoun. Born on 27th August 1878 in Chester Cheshire England. Florence died in 17E Kildonan Street Coatbridge on 4th July 1958 3.10 pm, she was 79.

They had one child:

6. James Burns. Born on 23rd October 1877 in 7 Mill Row Airdrie. James died in 1 Claremont Terrace Glasgow on 18th November 1960, he was 83. Occupation: Steeplejack.

On 14th July 1910 when James was 32, he married Mary Trotter, daughter of William John Trotter & Mary Baird, in Blackfriars Manse Dennistoun. Born abt 1886. Mary died in 71 Dale St Glasgow on 2nd April 1937, she was 51.

They had one child:

i.

Mary Baird. Born on 9th February 1915 in 71 Dale St Glasgow.

7. Noble Currie Burns. Born on 12th May 1880 in 18 Reid Street Glasgow. Noble Currie died in 43 Gleddoch Road Glasgow on 12th February 1951 4.45pm, he was 70. Buried on 14th February 1951 in Sandymount Cemetery. Occupation: Metal Polisher In 1894 was a factory worker.

On 31st December 1903 when Noble Currie was 23, he married Elizabeth Gardner, daughter of James Gardner & Christina McCambridge, in St. Clements Church Glasgow. Born abt 1880 in Lanark.

They had the following children:

		i.	Noble. Born on 21st November 1905 in 17 James Street Bridgeton Glasgow. Noble died in 92 Craigmuir Road Glasgow on 15th January 1977, he was 71. Occupation: Engine Fitter. Religion: Protestant.

8. Henry Burns. Born on February 5th 1887 in 18 Reid Street Glasgow. Henry died in Victoria Infirmary Glasgow on 24th June 1960 11:15am, he was 73. Buried on 27th June 1960 in Sandymount Cemetery see notes. Occupation: Iron Turner. Religion: Protestant.

On 22nd July 1916 when Henry was 29, he married Margaret Forbes, daughter of Charles Forbes & Margaret Dunbar M.S. Higgins, in Glasgow. Born on 4th May 1884 in 5 Blair Street Glasgow. Margaret died in 81 Reid Street Bridgeton on 27th January 1950, she was 65.

They had the following children:

	11	i.	Mary Trotter (1921-1988)
		ii.	Henry. Born on 22nd December 1916 in 8 Ruby Street Bridgeton Glasgow. Henry died in 71 Dale St Glasgow on 2nd April 1919, he was 2.
